Little Love Bug Shoe FAQs
Why Barefoot Style?
Why Barefoot Style?
What your child wears on their feet matters more than most people realize.
In the early years, their feet are still growing, forming, and incredibly sensitive to restriction. Shoes that are too tight, too stiff, or poorly fitting can interfere with how they move, balance, and develop over time.
90%+ kids are born with perfect feet - Let's keep them that way!
Choosing the right shape and fit from the beginning isn’t just important - it sets the foundation for everything that comes next.
Why Little Love Bug shoes for development?
Why Little Love Bug shoes for development?
Most kids’ shoes are just mini versions of adult shoes - narrow, stiff, and made for looks more than function. That usually means cramped toes, restricted movement, and shoes that don’t support how kids are actually meant to move.
That’s exactly why I created Little Love Bug.
I design every pair with growing feet in mind - wide toe boxes, flexible soles, and a zero-drop design that allows for natural movement from the very beginning. No squeezing. No heavy, rigid soles. Just shoes that let little feet move the way they’re supposed to.
Because kids’ feet aren’t just smaller - they’re still developing with every step they take.
And just as important as the design… is the fit.
So many kids are wearing the wrong size - either too small or too big - which can affect comfort, movement, and development. And since every brand fits differently, it’s hard to know what the “right” size actually is.
So I made it simple.
You can use our quick Fit Guide to find your child’s size at home with no guessing, no stress. Whether you’re buying their very first pair or figuring out when it’s time to size up, I want you to feel confident you’re getting it right.
Because when shoes fit the way they should, everything just works better - for them and for you.
Do Little Love Bugs have arch support?
Do Little Love Bugs have arch support?
Little Love Bug shoes are designed to follow the natural shape of your child’s foot—no added arch support, no extra cushioning.
That’s intentional.
In babies and toddlers, the arch is still developing. It isn’t something that needs to be “supported”—it’s something that needs the space and freedom to form naturally over time. When shoes add structure too early, they can actually take away from the muscles doing the work they’re meant to do.
That’s why we keep things simple: wide, flexible, and flat—so little feet can move, strengthen, and develop the way they’re supposed to.
How about cleaning?
How about cleaning?
Taking care of your Little Love Bugs is simple.
For everyday messes, just spot clean with a soft cloth, a little water, and mild soap if needed. For scuffs on the soles, a magic eraser works great to freshen them up.
We don’t recommend tossing them in the washing machine—too much water or repeated washing can break down the materials over time.
If they need a deeper clean, remove the insoles, hand wash gently, and let them air dry completely.
What sizes are available?
What sizes are available?
Little Love Bug is made for growing feet—from first steps through everyday adventures.
Our styles are designed for early walkers all the way through big kids, with most styles available up to size 3Y.
What about orthotics?
What about orthotics?
Yes—Little Love Bug shoes can work well for kids who wear AFOs, SMOs, braces, or have higher-volume feet.
Because of our naturally wide, foot-shaped design and flexible construction, many families find they’re able to comfortably accommodate orthotics. We typically recommend sizing up by one size to allow enough room for the orthotic and proper movement.
For the best fit, measure your child’s foot with the orthotics on and use our Fit Quiz as your starting point.
If you’re just getting started, we also recommend trying a low-top style first, as they’re often easier to get on and adjust around braces (velcro).
And if you want real-life feedback from other parents, our VIP Facebook group is an incredible resource—there’s a whole community of moms sharing what’s worked for them, and they’re always happy to help.

What is premium leather?
What is premium leather?
Both of our leathers are 100% genuine and made to last — they just bring their own personality to your Little Love Bugs.
Premium Wax Leather
This style is treated with a light wax or oil coating, giving it a rich, buttery finish that highlights the natural grain. Over time, it develops a beautiful patina — a soft sheen that deepens with wear, making every pair truly one-of-a-kind. The wax treatment also adds a layer of protection against moisture and daily scuffs, making it both luxurious and practical.
Textured Leather
Textured leather is created by embossing or pressing a pattern (like pebbled or reptile textures) into the surface. The result? A durable, slightly tougher leather that holds up beautifully to daily play. Its texture naturally hides small scratches or scuffs, making it a low-maintenance favorite for busy little adventurers.
In Short:
- Premium Wax Leather → buttery soft, smooth, and gains character with age.
- Textured Leather → durable, patterned, and great for everyday wear.
Whichever you choose, both offer the same comfort and protection your little one’s feet deserve — it’s all about the look and feel you love best.
