I wanted barefoot shoes that could survive kids.
I loved the idea of shoes that let kids move naturally — wide toe boxes, flexible soles and plenty of freedom for growing feet.
But I also knew something every parent knows: kids are really, really hard on shoes.
They scooter. They drag their toes. They climb things they probably shouldn't. They run, bike, jump, scrape and somehow manage to find every possible way to destroy a perfectly good pair of shoes.
So I wanted something in between. A shoe that still felt light and flexible, but had a little extra protection for real-life kid stuff.
And obviously, they still had to be really cute. 😂

Play Perfect was created for kids who are especially hard on shoes. You still get the wide toe box, zero-drop construction and flexibility Little Love Bug is known for, but with a higher-wrap silicone sole that adds extra protection around the shoe.

Are Play Perfects still flexible? +
Yes. Play Perfects are designed to stay flexible and lightweight while adding extra protection around the outside of the shoe. They are made to move with kids — not feel stiff or bulky.
Are they good for scooters, bikes and playgrounds? +
That is exactly the kind of play they were designed for. The higher-wrap sole helps protect areas that commonly get scraped during scootering, biking, climbing, running and everyday playground adventures.
Are Play Perfects indestructible? +
No kids' shoe is indestructible — and we would never pretend otherwise. Play Perfects simply add more protection in high-wear areas while keeping the flexible, foot-shaped feel we care about.
How do I clean them? +
For everyday dirt, gently wipe the shoe and sole with a damp cloth. For tougher messes, use a small amount of mild soap and water. Avoid harsh cleaners and allow them to air dry completely.
How do I know which size to order? +
Measure both feet while your child is standing and use the larger measurement when comparing it with our size guide. Be sure to leave appropriate growing room rather than sizing from their age alone.

Fit with SMOs, AFOs and orthotics depends on the device and the individual child's foot. Some Little Love Bug styles may accommodate certain devices, but we recommend checking measurements carefully before ordering.
What if the size doesn't work? +
We know sizing kids online can be tricky. Eligible orders can be returned within our return window, so you can find the pair that works best.
