Their First Steps Deserve the Right Shoes.
Lightweight, flexible and foot-shaped — designed to protect little feet without getting in the way of natural movement.
Made for Wobbles, Wiggles & First Steps.
First walking shoes should protect little feet without getting in the way. Ours are designed to move with them while they learn to balance, step and explore.
ROOM FOR TINY TOES
A wide, foot-shaped toe box gives growing toes room to spread, grip and move naturally.
FLAT + ZERO DROP
Keeps little feet flat from heel to toe while they learn to balance, stand and move.
BENDS WITH THEIR FEET
Soft, flexible soles move with every tiny step instead of fighting against natural movement.
LIGHTWEIGHT PROTECTION
Protection from everyday surfaces without heavy, bulky shoes weighing down brand-new steps.
I wanted better first shoes for my own kids.
When my kids were little, I wanted shoes that protected their feet without changing the way those tiny feet naturally moved.
I wanted room for toes to spread. Soles that actually bent. Shoes that felt light on brand-new walkers — and were still really, really cute.
I couldn’t find exactly what I wanted. So I created Little Love Bug.
Eight years later, that same belief is still behind every pair we make: little feet deserve room to grow, move and explore.
Our Go-To First Shoe: The Low Top.
Easy on. Easy off. Lightweight, flexible and made for those brand-new steps.
First shoes can feel confusing. They don't have to be.
When should my baby start wearing shoes? +
Barefoot is a great option whenever the environment is safe. Once your little one is walking outdoors or needs protection from rough, hot, cold or dirty surfaces, a lightweight, flexible shoe can protect their feet while still allowing natural movement.
What should I look for in a first walking shoe? +
Look for a wide toe box, lightweight construction, a flat sole and plenty of flexibility. Their toes should have room to spread, and the shoe should move easily with their foot.
Should first walker shoes have arch support? +
Young children's feet are still developing. Our shoes are designed to be flat and flexible rather than relying on a rigid built-in arch, allowing little feet to move naturally as they grow.
How flexible should first walking shoes be? +
Very flexible. You should be able to bend the sole easily with your hands. A flexible shoe allows their foot to bend and move as they walk, climb and explore.
How do I know what size to order? +
Measure both feet while your child is standing and use the larger measurement when comparing it with our size guide. If your child falls between sizes, our team can help you choose the best fit.
