I wanted shoes that actually looked like feet.
When my kids were little, I started paying attention to how different their feet looked from the shoes we were putting them in.
Tiny toes were naturally wide and spread out — while so many kids' shoes were narrow, stiff and heavily structured.
I wanted something different. Shoes that gave growing feet room to move, bend and feel the ground — without sacrificing the cute.

What does “barefoot-inspired” actually mean? +
Barefoot-inspired shoes are designed to interfere less with the natural shape and movement of the foot. That usually means a wide, foot-shaped toe box, a flat zero-drop sole, lightweight construction and plenty of flexibility.
In simple terms: protection from the ground, without putting little feet inside a stiff, narrow shoe.
Do barefoot shoes have arch support? +
Barefoot-style shoes typically avoid rigid built-in arch support. Little Love Bug shoes are designed to be flat and flexible so growing feet have room to move rather than being held in a heavily structured shape.
Are barefoot shoes supposed to be this flexible? +
Yes. Flexibility is one of the main features of barefoot-inspired footwear. The sole should bend with the foot instead of forcing the foot to move with a stiff shoe.
